Flaws and All

Don’t try to change yourself for me,

Allow me to love you authentically.

I see potential in your flaws, and bright ideas in your failures,

Like the first budding fern after a forest fire.

I admire you.

I want to find beauty in parts of you that she overlooked, find the uncertainties and insecurities of your character and seal them with my love.

I will teach you to love beyond your fear.

The concept of self is a very complex and very debated one.

Yet it is empty; and this is why I feel it is so difficult.

Self-image is comparable to the mirror image you see when looking at yourself in the clear water.

One minute we have ourselves figured out and clearly defined;

our goals,

our standards,

what we will and won’t do,

and in the blink of an eye that image can be completely distorted with the toss of something as small as a pebble,

yet can be catastrophic in destroying the concept of self we hold on to.

The concept of self is ever changing, and that’s something that needs to be embraced.

To others it may seem like you may be confused,

but to a more deeply evolved soul, they will understand that life, wisdom, and genuine fulfilling experience is a cycle of lost and found.

To find yourself you must lose yourself and then find yourself again.

Each time you find yourself after a period of darkness and frustration,

you will awake with a deeper soul shaking understanding and awareness of yourself.

Life is about making the leap to the unknown,

and not being afraid to emerge a different version of yourself.

Life’s a Journey

Life is a journey,

not meant to be trod,

not a clear path into the light,

But what life is against all odds,

is a race requiring wit and might,

We trick ourselves into believing,

greatness is born within a night,

But those who achieve it,

and stake their claim,

Knows greatness demands great sacrifice,

Life’s a journey not meant to be trod,

a highway it seems in these changing times,

Life’s a journey,

a gift from god,

whose path is mapped by our state of minds,

A path that must be created with care,

and above all else without any fear,

For fear is a prison,

an enslaver of the mind,

A blocker of thoughts,

a killer of pride,

Life’s a journey not meant to be trod,

It demands that we open our eyes,

Life’s a journey,

a mystery unsolved,

Unraveled when faith becomes our guide.

“Patience child…

“Patience child, patience. Remember, life is a journey. If you got everything you wanted all at once there’d be no point to living. “Enjoy the ride, and in the end you’ll see these “set backs” as giant leaps forward, only you couldn’t see the bigger picture in the moment. Remain calm, all is within reach; all you have to do is show up everyday, stay true to your path and you will surely find the treasure you seek.”

Freedom.

Freedom is defined as the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants. Also as the state of not being imprisoned or enslaved.

Keeping these definitions in mind, are any of us really free?

Sometimes I wish to be more free.

From the restraints placed on me by everybody.

They tell me they love me for me, but thats all a lie, because how can you really love me if you’ve never even met me?

Only your version of me,

Of who you wish I could be.

I’m not perfect, nor do I wish to be.

So may I be perfectly imperfect, and who I want to be?

Suffocating…

I feel like I’m suffocating.

You Remind Me of the Moon

You remind me of the full moon.

so close… yet far out of reach

the look of love, once had but never to be found again.

You come around every once in a while and shine… subtle, yet humble.

With a silent , demanding, hypnotic power.

the remnants of our love restricted to the longing in our eye connection.

until we look away… trying to forget the unforgettable.

I’ve decided to love you from a far.

detached myself from the possibility and accepted love without ownership.

Instead of trying to have you for myself I will let you run free and share your light with the world.

Hoping for the chance to once again be a star supporting your light.

Metamorphosis is a choice.

Some fly freely like a butterfly,

without any restraints or ties to past situations.

Others stay bound within their self-designated cocoon to be a product of their environment despite their constant struggle to break free.

We are the one’s who dictate whether we will flow freely and adapt to new situations like water,

or constantly struggle with fear of newness and progression and stay stuck in a constant cycle of degradation.

The lock and the key is fear.

Ultimately, Metamorphosis is a choice.

The Morality of a Fountain

Give nothing, Get left with nothing.

Give everything, get left with nothing.

Maybe the problem lies in expecting to be left with something other than nothing.

No one can love me better than I love me.

No one can appreciate me more than I appreciate myself.

So why should I feel entitled to it from others?

I have an everlasting supply of love and appreciation within myself for myself that not everyone has.

I am a fountain – who am I to deny a thirsty person a drink?

should I expect a fee even from the thirstiest who come to drink?

Who Am I?

The moon in the midst of a solar eclipse,

The sky while the sun is rising and the moon is still present,

The earth while the first buds of spring emerge on a tree while the snow melts from its roots,

A catepillar snug its cocoon, waiting patiently for its time to emerge,

All are elements in between stages, in the midst of a mass change. waiting patiently for life’s cue and direction.

Putting their trust in their purpose and the cycle of their existence to determine the outcome.

Certainly Uncertain.
